Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur organized a Painting
competition, Cleanliness Drive at Aanganwadi centre under Swachhta Pakhwada
followed by a Plantation drive within the college premises under the theme “Ek Ped
Maa Ke Naam” for the celebration of 78 th National Independence Day. The whole
event was conducted under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora, Principal of
the college. Large number of students took part in the event with great zeal and
enthusiasm. The Painting competition was held on the theme of Freedom Struggle.
The competition provided profound platform for student’s artistic expression and
thereby creatively exploring the rich tapestry of the art work. All the paintings
captured the spirit of resilience and unity defining the journey to our freedom
struggle. The painting competition was judged by Dr. Maansi Sharma, Dr. Sunil Tanoch, Prof.
Rekha Sharma. The whole event was organized under the convenorship of Prof.
Shaista Yasmeen.
The college conducted various activities under Swachhta Pakhwada, to celebrate
Independence Day 2024 and as a part of it, NSS Unit SEWAK organized a
cleanliness drive at Aanganwadi centre where students under the supervision of Prof.
Shaista Yasmeen, NSS PO cleaned the whole centre. All the litters were properly
disposed off. The activities were designed to promote a cleaner environment and
instil a sense of national pride.The college has also organized a plantation drive
within the premises of the college under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”. During
the event, saplings were planted by the staff and the students and the participants
were educated on the importance of tree plantation and its role in combating
environmental challenges such as global warming, climate change and soil erosion.
In the end, the Principal shared her valuable words with the students and said that the
aim of providing a platform was to showcase the artistic talent of the students besides
fostering a sense of patriotism. She appreciated the staff for conducting such events
as well as the students who actively participated in such events.
