GDC Neeli Nallah Udhampur Organizes Health Care Awareness Programme Under The Theme “SEVA CE SIKHE”

The NSS Unit of GDC Neeli Nallah Udhampur organized Health Care Awareness programme
“SEVA CE SIKHE” under GOI initiative and visited Primary Health Centre Garhi. The event took
place in the Health Training centre(RHTC) Ayushman Arogya Mandir Garhi starting at 11:00 AM
in which the NSS Program Coordinator, Prof. Shaista Yasmeen, Assistant Professor,
Department of English along with NSS volutneers participated with zeal and enthusiasm . She
coordinated the event, with an aim to enhance students understanding of healthcare practices
and their role in serving society .
During the visit, Dr Arti Bharat, Medical Officer and Dr. Ritu Raina, Dental surgeon at PHC Garhi
and Mr. Somraj Gupta,(Head Pharmacist) distinguished medical professional, addressed the
NSS volunteers and delivered an enlightening speech on safeguarding various diseases.
Medical Professionals emphasized the importance of preventive measures, timely diagnosis,
and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. His insights inspired the students to actively engage in
community healthcare initiatives.
Prof. Shaista Yasmeen (NSS PO) Department of English, Dr. Zahoor wani and Dr. Nazeer
Ahmad khan led the NSS group during the interaction, providing valuable guidance and support
to the students. The session fostered meaningful dialogue between the students and the
healthcare professionals, especially Dr. Arti Bharat, Medical Officer helping them grasp practical
aspects of service and care.
Principal of GDC Neeli Nallah Udhampur, Prof. (Dr) Seema Arora, was instrumental in
facilitating this opportunity for the students. She motivated the volunteers to seek the benefits of
participating in these kinds of events and thereby promoting the community engagement and
social responsibility. This initiative underscored the role of NSS in promoting outreach activities
and fostered holistic development among its students.
