NSS Unit “SEWAK” of Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur
organized a Pledge, Cleanliness Drive, Poster making & Slogan writing competition
under Swachhta Pakhwada for the celebration of 78 th National Independence Day.
The whole event was conducted under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora
Principal of the college. The programme started with key note address by the
Principal of the college. Large number of NSS students took part in the pledge and
cleaned the whole campus under cleanliness Drive with great zeal and enthusiasm.
In the slogan writing competition, Priti Bharti, Rushi Dogra and Parul verma
secured 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd positions respectively. And in Poster making competition
Shivali Devi, Rashu Devi and Riya Sharma of semester 3 rd secured 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd
positions respectively.
The Principal shared her valuable words with the students and said that an
institution of higher education must impart the knowledge regarding cleanliness,
safe environment, hygiene, beautification, awareness campaigns, plantation drives,
to the students in particular and the society in general through these activities. In the
end, the Principal appreciated the staff for conducting such events as well as the
students who actively participated in such events.
The convenor of the programme was NSS (PO) Prof. Shaista Yasmeen. The
organizers of the programme were Dr. Maansi Sharma, Dr. Sunil Tanoch and Prof.
Rekha Sharma.
