Essay Writing Competition On Women’s Rights

GDC Neeli Nallah Udhampur organized Essay Writing Competition on Women’s rights on the
occasion of Constitution Day under the theme "My Constitution My Pride" under the able guidance
of Prof. Hans Raj, Principal of the college. The programme started with key note address by the
Principal of the college. A large number of students took part in the program with zeal and
enthusiasm. Principal of the college asserted that such type of awareness program will create
awareness among students regarding Constitution and make them more alert about the importance
of constitution because it ensures that those who make decisions on behalf of the public fairly
represent public opinions. The Constitution of India not only grants equality to women but also
empowers the State to adopt measures of positive discrimination in favour of women for
neutralizing the cumulative socio economic, education and political disadvantages faced by them.
The State not to discriminate against any citizen on grounds only of religion, race, caste, sex, place of
birth or any of them.In the EssayWriting Competition Rimjhim Sharma of Sem 1 st ,Rupali Rajput of
Sem 5th and Himanshi sharma of Sem 1 st secured 1", 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Principal of
the college congratulated the participants for their excellent performance in the Essay Writing. He
also appreciated the efforts of the staff for their hardwork to make the event successful. The
convenor of the programme was Dr. Akhter Hussain. The members of organizing committee were
Dr. Mansi sharma, Dr. Swati Dutt, Dr. Radha Rani, Prof. Shaista Yasmeen and Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Mir.
Others present in the program were Dr. Mahima Bhagat, Mrs. Swati Sharma, Mr. Pradeep Kumar
and Dr. Muntazir Ahmed Bhat.
